Grand Mesa

The Grand Mesa to quote the brochure " is known as the largest flattop mountain in the world". The Grand Mesa is about 30 miles from Grand Junction. It includes a bunch of lakes, a ski resort and offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, including camping, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, etc. We took a drive over the Mesa a couple of weeks ago. Most of it was covered with snow but interesting and 10,000 feet altitude.
Jay and John at Powderhorn ski resort.John at the top overlooking the valley below. I was very glad that there was snow on the side of the road to buffer the drop off.

Coming down the other side, lots of quaking aspens and big mountains.
