The Man and His Grill!

When we moved our grill had to stay behind. It was falling apart and needed repair plus it didn't fit in the trailer. It has been a long 3 months without a grill. We would bbq at least once a week so we were really missing it. John didn't want to spend alot of money but we did find a good deal at Home Depot. John and His Grill, Chubby watching.

It was an 80 degree day so it felt like summer and smelt like it also.

Poor Chubby!!

One day he is a happy/grumpy Chubby dog hanging out with Jay in the sun in the backyard.
Jay and Chubby

Chubby working on getting some love while Jay plays with the camera.

As you know Chubby has had some health issues since we moved. Maybe due to the move and maybe because of other things. So at the vet's advise we had the "works" done on Chubby. He was neutered, had his teeth cleaned, got blood work, and an x-ray all at once when they put him out. More bang for the buck. Anyway the x-ray and blood work came back fine. His teeth are clean and none had to be pulled. As far as the neutering goes...he's made at me!! Sore!!Here he is right after he came home. One pathetic looking dog. His leg was shaved for the IV.
This really makes him unhappy. The "collar" is there to keep him from licking himself. So when we can't watch him or have him next to us he has to wear this. If dogs pout Chubby is doing that when wearing the collar. He is sneaky so you have to watch him. Doc says for 7 to 10 days. So I'm babysitting!!

The crane came down

Remember the pictures of the crane on top of the hospital? It was quite a process to get it down. It came down in stages. Here it is part way down and we talked to the crane guy and they had it anchored in tight because of the big wind coming in to western Colorado. Within a week of when this picture was taken the crane was gone. They hauled it out one or two pieces at a time on semi trucks.John took Jay up to the top on Easter. Since I don't do heights very well I'm waiting for all the walls, windows and stairs to be completed!

Easter

We always color eggs on the Saturday before Easter. This is the first year in many years that John and I got into the act! We didn't do the 6 or 7 dozen that we used to do when we had all three kids at home. It was 2 1/2 dozen this year.
Jay and John coloring eggs.
The finished product. Notice we remembered those that couldn't be with us.

He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
We attended the community sunrise service. Only it was raining hard and they moved it inside. Then we went home and I made sticky buns for breakfast with Easter Eggs.

Jay after finding the colored eggs in the house! He said it was weird hunting for eggs with no competition from his brothers. Also having Mom and Dad watching "only him".

Jay having to pose with mom and dad after hunting eggs. No fancy dressed up Easter clothes this year.

Church Search............

We are still looking for a church. We have been to 7 different churches in 9 weeks. Some we will check out again and others not. Pray for us as we continue the search to find a place to fit into and get involved.

"Stupid Bird"

Why am I picking on the cute little bird? Well it started about 3 weeks ago when Mark was home for spring break. Around 8 am he starts pecking at the windows on the west side of the house. Which is especially annoying to anyone still sleeping.
That is his look after you pound on the window!

Here he is pecking ..... John thinks he is pecking at his shadow....trying to chase away the competition???? We have reflective windows that look kinda like a mirror.
He just jumps around from one spot to the next. After plenty of pounding or opening the window he flies to his perch on the tree right beside the house.

Dry Snow

It snowed on Monday. But notice that we have a couple inches of snow but none on the street or sidewalks. John figured it was because it was so dry here that it just didn't stick.

You can see where I cleaned off the vehicles.

Backyard with snow on everything but the cement.

Weird, it was dry...I even had a conversation with the checker at Walmart about it.
